Hexcore Labs Brings the AgentHex Cybersecurity Programme to Hong Wen Primary School

Hexcore Labs delivered the AgentHex Cybersecurity programme at Hong Wen Primary School, funded under the IMDA LEARN Roadmap and sponsored by EC-Council. It ran from 14 May to 27 August 2026 for the school’s Infocomm Media Club, the CCA through which MOE primary schools take the course up.

Sessions were two hours a week and added up to twenty-four hours in total. Pupils learned through AgentHex on Hexcore Arena, our browser-based game, following a trainee Cyber Agent as he works his way towards becoming an ethical hacker. Along the way they met in-game terminals, network devices and targets, and solved puzzles built around enumeration, exploitation, networking and social engineering. Every scenario and command was adapted from a real one and simplified for ten- and eleven-year-olds.

The course closed with a Capture the Flag competition, where pupils put everything they had learned to use against a set of challenges and compete for the sponsored prizes.

What makes this age a pleasure to teach is how quickly the ideas land. Give a ten-year-old a terminal and a reason to use it, and the intimidation that usually surrounds this subject never gets a chance to form.

Our thanks to Hong Wen Primary School, to IMDA and to EC-Council for backing it.

Any primary school in Singapore with an Infocomm Media Club can apply for the programme. Details of every programme under the LEARN Roadmap are here: https://file.go.gov.sg/imc-learn-infokit.pdf
