Celebrating Our Students at EdTek Con 2026: Capture the Flag and AI Hackathon

We had an amazing time at EdTek Con 2026 on 15 and 16 October at Thames International School Inc. in Quezon City! This year’s theme was “The Future is Now: Educational Leadership in the Age of Intelligent Learning,” and the conference brought together educators, education leaders, policymakers and technology innovators to talk about how schools can lead as AI reshapes teaching and learning.

EdTek Con was founded in 2025 by EdFolio CEO Ursel Laureno to connect educators with technology leaders. It started as a one-day conference, and we were thrilled to help grow it into two days this year through a collaboration with Hexcore Labs Philippines’ Mission: LearnPossible 2, led by Hexcore Labs Philippines CEO Alan Reyes.

Day two belonged to the students. About 140 students from universities across NCR and nearby provinces went head to head in a Capture the Flag competition and an AI Hackathon. It was inspiring to watch them turn what they know into practical skills and take on real-world challenges.

Capture the Flag winners:

• 1st place: SCRIPT_KIDDIES from FEU Institute of Technology
• 2nd place: ALOA from Technological Institute of the Philippines
• 3rd place: APTWATCH from Mapua University

AI Hackathon winners:

• 1st place: National University
• 2nd place: Technological Institute of the Philippines
• 3rd place: Bulacan State University
