Hexcore Labs Powers the Youth Cyber Exploration Programme Across Singapore

Hexcore Labs was the main Curriculum and Tech Partner for the Youth Cyber Exploration Programme (YCEP), the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore’s annual flagship cybersecurity bootcamp. It ran from 13 to 19 June 2026 at all five local polytechnics (Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic), as well as ITE and SIT, for Secondary School, JC and Year 1 ITE students.

Between 300 and 400 secondary school students took part. Every lesson material, lab and Capture the Flag machine ran on Hexcore Arena, our browser-based platform, so students could start learning right away without setting anything up. This year’s bootcamp also included a girls-only option alongside the general bootcamps, to encourage more first-time female participation.

The programme is organised by the five local polytechnics and with support from CSA. It launched in 2018 and has since helped more than 700 students take their first steps into cybersecurity. Students with outstanding YCEP scores go on to compete in the Central Capture the Flag Competition.

What makes this age group a pleasure to teach is how quickly the ideas land. Give a student a real lab and a reason to use it, and the intimidation that usually surrounds this subject never gets a chance to form.

Our thanks to CSA, Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, ITE, and SIT for backing it.
